Oral healthcare access bill introduced in House

Congresswoman Debbie Dingell (D-Mich.) on Sept. 17 introduced the Comprehensive Dental Reform Act of 2024 (HR 9622), the House companion bill to legislation introduced earlier this year by Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee Chair Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.). The bill, among other provisions, seeks to expand comprehensive dental coverage to all Medicare, Medicaid and Veterans Affairs beneficiaries. AAOMS is closely monitoring the issue; however, neither bill is expected to progress this session.
