AAOMS recognizes that OMSs are the dental specialists safely providing the majority of deep sedation/general anesthesia and IV sedation services in the United States. AAOMS supports its members’ anesthesia practice by working with state OMS societies and other organizations to address state regulation and legislation, developing practice resources including the OAE and OBEAM, enabling self-reporting of any anesthesia events and offering continuing education.
