AADB develops Dental and Dental Hygiene Compact

The American Association of Dental Boards (AADB) has developed its own Dental and Dental Hygiene Compact to provide for cross-state dental licensure while upholding public protections. This differs from the compact proposed by the Council of State Governments and ADA and already enacted in three states. States will need to decide which – if any – compact to adopt. It is important to note that neither compact addresses specialty licensure, anesthesia or scope of practice matters, which will remain under the jurisdiction of individual practice states and dental boards.
